Staunch conservative Sen. Mike Baumgartner, R-Spokane, loves to throw rhetorical bombs. On Tuesday, Baumgartner issued a press release criticizing what he and other Republicans see as a lack of firm leadership from the governor's office on getting the Legislature to reach a budget deal. “What we have seen from Gov. Jay Inslee," Baumgartner said, "is the kind of leadership we would expect from an empty paper bag,"
At least he did not call the ecologically-conscious governor an empty plastic bag.
