How do I make changes to my recurring (sustainer) donation?

To manage your recurring gift payment method, or increase your giving amount, please visit the Cascade PBS Supporter Hub .

To end your recurring donation or lower your donation amount, please contact our Donor and Audience Relations team. You can contact us via our contact form, or by calling 1-800-937-5287, any time Monday-Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. PST.

If you were sent a thank you gift when you started your sustainer donation and you have not fulfilled the total amount of the pledge, we ask that you commit to the total pledge amount in full before ending.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Contributions to Cascade PBS (Cascade Public Media) are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law.

Cascade PBS has the authority to issue U.S. tax receipts only. You may wish to consult your tax advisor to determine whether you will receive any tax benefits for your donation to Cascade PBS.

Under current tax laws, only the amount of your contribution that exceeds the amount of any goods provided to you is tax-deductible as a charitable contribution. If you requested a thank-you gift such as a program DVD, book, or any other item, the fair-market value of that item is not tax-deductible. Please consult your tax adviser concerning the preparation and submission of tax returns.

Qualified charitable distributions through an IRA account or Donor Advised Fund (DAF) are acknowledged at the time of donation and do not qualify for the Cascade PBS tax receipt. Please note the IRS does not allow for any goods or services to be transferred to you in exchange for a contribution from your IRA or DAF; however, your Cascade PBS membership will be honored. You may also want to consult your tax advisor with any further questions.

Donations made via third party affiliations (such as Eventbright, and Washington Gives) are tax receipted by those entities and not Cascade PBS.

Cascade Public Media ("CPM") is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Federal Tax ID: 91-1221895. Cascade Public Media, which includes Cascade PBS, is currently registered with the WA Secretary of State's office under the charitable solicitation act at chapter 19.09 RCW - call 1-800-332-4483. Additional financial and other information may be obtained by contacting CPM at 1-800-937-5287 or the Secretary's office by visiting at sos.wa.gov/charities. Under the current U.S. tax laws only the amount of your contribution that exceeds the amount of the goods provided to you is tax-deductible as a charitable contribution. This is not financial or legal advice. Please consult your tax advisor regarding your particular situation.

I recently renewed my membership, why did I receive another request to donate?

Renewal letters are prepared and mailed approximately two weeks before they are delivered. As a result, you may receive a renewal letter even if you have already renewed your membership. We apologize for any confusion this may cause and kindly ask that you disregard any renewal letters received within a month of making your contribution.

Additionally, if you are mailing in a donation, please allow at least one week for it to reach us. We deposit checks daily and process credit card donations several times per week. If more than a week has passed and your bank or credit card statement does not reflect your gift to Cascade PBS, please don’t hesitate to contact us

How can I pledge for a thank you gift?

To choose a pledge gift, visit our Pledge Cart site. There you can browse a wide selection of gift options to receive as a thank you for making your donation.

When will I receive my thank you gift?

If you requested a thank you gift, it should arrive about eight weeks from the time we processed your contribution. We need eight weeks to deliver your thank you gifts because we order gifts from our suppliers near the end of our pledge drives, when we have an estimate of the total number of gifts requested. As soon as we receive our order, we ship the item(s) on to you. If you do not receive your thank you gift within eight weeks, we do apologize and ask that you contact us so we can check to see why your order has been delayed.

Do You Accept Canadian Funds (CAD)?

Yes! Canadian dollars are taken at par, so there's no need to worry about conversion if your form of payment processes from a Canadian bank. A Canadian resident donating with a USD credit card or bank account, however, will have to pay a conversion fee as they would be billed in CAD instead of USD.

How do I reset my PBS account password?

To securely reset your PBS Account password, visit the PBS.org reset password form. PBS will send you an email containing a link allowing you to create a new password.

How do I update my account email address?

To manage your personal information, including your email address and newsletter preferences, please visit our Supporter Hub .

You can also update your email address from the profile section of PBS.org when you are logged in, following the steps below:

  1. After you've logged on to PBS.org, hover over your name in the upper left side, and when the menu displays, click Profile, Account Security, then select the pencil icon that is located to the right of Email Address.
  2. In the Email Address textbox, type the new email address and select Continue.
  3. Go to the email account that is associated with the email address you just added and open the email from PBS.Copy the verification code that is in the body of the email.
  4. Go back to the PBS website and paste the verification code from your email in the Verification Code textbox. Click Continue.

Your new email address now the address associated with your PBS Account and should be used whenever logging in to PBS.org or the PBS app.

If you encounter an error message that a PBS account already exists with that email address, then you will be unable to update the email address as two PBS accounts cannot exist with the same email address. Please log out and log back in with the other PBS account you have previously set up.

If you own multiple PBS accounts but would like to switch the account linked to your Passport benefit, you can reactivate your benefit with your preferred account using the Passport Reset Tool.
