Mayor Lisa Brown is calling for another study to assess the risks of transporting 2,000 gallons of radioactive liquid from Hanford to Utah and Texas via I-90.
“There’s this firehose of firearms that are coming into our communities,” said Ryan Disch-Guzman, chief of staff at the Alliance for Gun Responsibility.
Opponents call the ballot measure “a wolf in sheep’s clothing” designed to destroy the program, since enough people dropping out could make it insolvent.
