Jamie is an environmental and climate justice policy advocate, community builder, strategist, and educator rooted in Seattle, Washington, and shaped by the lands and waters that raised her in Hawai’i. She has spent 15 years investing in community, youth and BIPOC leadership to further environmental justice and shape equitable policymaking. From 2016-2021 she founded and led the creation of the first-ever climate justice framework for King County’s 2020 Strategic Climate Action Plan.

In this uplifting and encouraging session, we'll explore doable solutions for all of us to take on the overwhelming challenges facing our planet.

About the Festival

The Cascade PBS Ideas Festival brings together journalists, newsmakers, and innovators from around the country to talk about the issues that are animating our cultural conversations. The festival includes live recordings of television and podcasts from The Atlantic, The New Yorker, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Slate, Pushkin, NPR and PBS; as well as community meetups, meet-and-greets, food trucks, DJs, and more.
