Civic Cocktail is Crosscut's version of this — a televised public affairs conversation on the first Wednesday of each month that we put on with the Seattle Channel and City Club Seattle. We launched Civic Cocktail early this spring, quickly selling out performances at Tom Douglas' Palace Ballroom.
After a summer break, Civic Cocktail returns to the Palace Ballroom, Wed., Oct. 2 at 5:30 pm (Program starts at 6 p.m.) with a blend of tech, crime and politics. October's news cocktail will center around an audience-fueled discussion of the Seattle mayor’s race, public safety and a look at Seattle’s growing tech startup community.
The Seattle Times’ Joni Balter will speak with Police Chief Jim Pugel; former Seattle mayor Greg Nickels; Chris Devore, creator of Founders Co-Op, a tech-focused investment fund; Crosscut’s Knute Berger; West Seattle Blog’s Tracy Record and more.
