Sonia Manzano is deeply rooted in the style and flavors of the South Bronx—a place she once longed to escape but now embraces for its cultural vibrancy and diversity. As the first Latina character, Maria, on the popular children’s show Sesame Street, Sonia Manzano has opened doors for the Latino community.
